Why the smell keeps coming back
Urine soaks through the carpet into the pad underneath and dries into salts. Every time the air gets humid, which in Cleveland is most of the summer, those salts pull moisture back in and the smell wakes up again. Sprays from the pet store cover it for a day or two. They never reach what's in the pad.
What we do
- Find the spots with a UV light and a moisture meter, including the ones you can smell but can't see.
- Soak each one with an enzyme treatment that breaks the urine down instead of covering it up.
- Give it time to work, then extract and rinse.
- On the worst spots, flush the pad directly with a sub-surface tool.

Is it safe for my pets?
Yes, once it's dry. Keep them off while it's wet, mostly so they don't track it through the house.
Will the stain come out too?
The smell usually does better than the color. Older urine stains can leave a yellow mark that lightens but doesn't always disappear.
Why does my dog keep going in the same spot?
Because they can still smell it, even after you can't. Getting the odor out of the pad is often what finally breaks the habit.
